Kew tram depot opened on 8 May 1915, and was privatised in August 1999. It is now operated by Yarra Trams.
The main yard has 12 covered roads. There are two tracks for trams leaving or entering via Barkers Road, and a single track connecting to High Street.

One of the original batch of trams seen in the 1970's in the then standard "orange livery". They were later upgraded and then renumbered in the Z1 class, starting at tram 81.
This Toast Rack Tram was built in 1913 by Duncan and Fraser of Adelaide in South Australia for the Electric Supply Company of Victoria, who operated Bendigo Tramways from 1903-1934. In 1978, Tram No. 17 was transported to Melbourne to take part in the Australia Day Cavalcade of Transport celebrations.
W-class tram 920 and AEC Regent bus OM2615 on route 417 take part in Melbourne's Australia Day Cavalcade of Transport in 1978. The bus body was built by Clyde Engineering and is now preserved.
The J-class was built in 1954 by Vulcan Foundry in Lancashire and J515 was one of sixty and cost £36,000 each. Half were supplied as coal burners, the others as oil burners.

Standing at Parklink, on the former railway line which stretches two kilometres into the Royal National Park to terminate at the old railway station platform. Tram 548 was built in 1963 by Brisbane City Council after a fire at Paddington tram depot destroyed 65 trams. One of 8 new trams were built using salvaged and spare parts.
